The Executive branch: Duties and Roles of the president Essential Questions:What are the Constitutional duties of the President of the United States? How is the authority to make and enforce laws determined?

Constitutional Duties of the President Article Two listed duties of the Pres.: Enforce laws Veto power Call Congress into special session Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces Greet leaders of foreign countries Make treaties Appoint federal officials (heads of agencies, judges, ambassadors, etc.) Pardon or commute penalties for crimes Give Congress information on the “State of the Union”
