Jesus is Coming Back II Peter 3:10-12 – (10) “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up”. (11) “Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness”

Jesus is Coming Back It is Promised

It is Promised II Peter 3:1-4 – “Where is the promise of His coming?” John 14:1-3 – “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself” Acts 1:9-11 – “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” I Thessalonians 4:13-18 – “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven”

Jesus is Coming Back It is Promised It will be Unexpected

It will be Unexpected II Peter 3:10 – “the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night” I Thessalonians 5:1-3 – “the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night” Matthew 24:36, 42-44 – “be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect”

Jesus is Coming Back It is Promised It will be Unexpected It will be with Destruction

It will be with Destruction II Peter 3:10-12 – (10) “the heavens will pass away with a great noise” (10) “the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up” (11) “all these things will be dissolved” (12) “the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and elements will melt with fervent heat”

It will be with Destruction I John 2:15-17 – “the world is passing away, and the lust of it” Revelations 21:1 – “for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away”

Jesus is Coming Back It is Promised It will be Unexpected It will be with Destruction It will be with Judgment

It will be with Judgment II Thessalonians 1:7-10 – “when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengence” John 5:28-29 – “those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation”

It will be with Judgment Matthew 25:31-46 – “When the Son of Man comes in His glory” (34) “Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (41) “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (46) “These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life”

Conclusions Jesus is Coming Back There is a Great Day Coming It is promised & it will be “as a thief in the night” There is a Great Day Coming A Day of Destruction A Day of Judgment Are you prepared? Matthew 25:46 – “These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life”
