The Resurrection Day

We know it’s coming. John 5:28-29 Matthew 28:1-10 1 Corinthians 15:12-20

Some things that will happen: Men will know there IS a God.

Psalm 53:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Some things that will happen: Men will know there IS a God. God’s power will be realized.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

God’s power will be realized. 1 Corinthians 6:14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Some things that will happen: Men will know there IS a God. God’s power will be realized. A mixed bag of emotions will be seen.

Fear Hebrews 10:30-31 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The LORD will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

A mixed bag of emotions will be seen. Surprise Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

A mixed bag of emotions will be seen. Regret 2 Peter 2:20-22 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

A mixed bag of emotions will be seen. Joy Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Matthew 25:21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

Some things that will happen: Men will know there IS a God. God’s power will be realized. A mixed bag of emotions will be seen. Jesus and His people will be together.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17

Jesus and His people will be together. John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Some things that will happen: Men will know there IS a God. God’s power will be realized. A mixed bag of emotions will be seen. Jesus and His people will be together. Death will be no more.

1 Corinthians 15:22-26 Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 1 Corinthians 15:54-55

Some things that will happen: Men will know there IS a God. God’s power will be realized. A mixed bag of emotions will be seen. Jesus and His people will be together. Death will be no more.

The Second Death Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Matthew 25:41, 46 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: …46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Avoid the second death: Believe – John 8:24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” Repent – Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

Avoid the second death: Confess – Matthew 10:32-33 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Be Baptized – Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Avoid the second death: Be Faithful – Hebrews 3:12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; – 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
