4. Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Just as the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” bears witness to the death of a soldier for his country, the Supper proclaims the Lord’s death for mankind.

And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.” Christians look forward to Christ’s coming

8. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 “…And to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.” The unprepared dread his coming

9. 2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” The time of coming is uncertain, so we are to be watchful (cf. Matt. 25:13)

10. Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”
