1 The Events of Judgment Day
The Bible speaks clearly of a coming and final judgment While the world may be surprised by the event (ignorance and unbelief), Christians know it is coming (1 Thessalonians 5:1-6), “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” Consider the following things God reveals will happen on that day! 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6

2 The Resurrection of All the Dead
(John 5:28-29), “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” (Acts 24:15), [Paul told Felix], “I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.”   John 5:28-29; Acts 24:15

3 Matthew 25:31-32; 2 Corinthians 5:10
The Judge will Appear The Judge Will Appear (Matthew 25:31-32), “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.” (2 Corinthians 5:10), “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” Matthew 25:31-32; 2 Corinthians 5:10

4 All the People will be Gathered and Stand before God
All People will be Gathered and Stand before God (Matthew 25:31-32), “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.” (Revelation 20:12), [John’s Vision of the Judgment], “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” Matthew 25:32; Revelation 20:12

5 The Earth and its Works will be Burned Up
The Earth and its Works Burned Up (2 Peter 3:7-10), “But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:7-10

6 Books will be Opened Revelation 20:12; John 12:48-50
(Revelation 20:12), “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” (John 12:48-50), “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” (cf. Malachi 3:16-18), “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name. 17 “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18 Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.” Revelation 20:12; John 12:48-50

7 Each Person will be Judged by the Divine Standard
(Revelation 20:12), “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” (Romans 14:11-12), “For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” 12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” Revelation 20:12; Romans 14:11-12

8 Each Person will Receive their Just Reward
Each Person will Receive their Just Reward (God’s Fairness seen here) (Romans 2:5-11), “But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God.” Romans 2:5-11

9 Eternal Sentence will be Pronounced and Executed
(Matthew 25:31-33), “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.” (34), “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (41), “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (46), “And these [the unrighteous] will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:31-33, 34, 41, 46

10 That Day is coming… are you prepared
That Day is coming… are you prepared? Remember, judgment delayed is not judgment avoided! (Hebrews 10:28-29), “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 10:28-29
