Team Building Activity We will line up in order by birthdays…January 1 through December 31! You may not speak…you must work together to complete this task using body language only! YOU can do it!

Rules/Policies Cast members are expected to attend full rehearsals according to the calendar. You may miss up to (3) three non-mandatory rehearsals. Saturday rehearsals count for 2 – mandatory rehearsals may not be missed for any reason. Mandatory rehearsals – 14 days prior to performance. If more than 3 rehearsals are missed, you may be dropped at my discretion. APPROVED: Wildscats, Chamber Singers, World Voices, Voice Lessons and or Monologue Show.

Rules/Policies Continued Conduct yourselves in a respectful manner at all times. Weekend rehearsals – you ARE ALLOWED to leave the building for lunch. We will have cast breakfasts. Librettos are rented – if you lose them – you will be fined $25.

Rehearsal Philosophy 2 Ps: Prompt and prepared. Arrive on time and come to each rehearsal with an idea in mind (i.e. characterization, know where we are in the story, etc.). Practice at home! Though direction, characterization, and blocking are provided, you need to do some work outside of rehearsal (i.e. memorize your lines and lyrics).

The Rehearsal Schedule The February schedule is outlined for you. Were planning to frontload vocals and acting first as much as possible; choreography will be intertwined throughout. Its VERY important to be at choreography rehearsals…the choreographer has limited availability. March schedule – its a skeleton as of now. Look for a detailed calendar soon. It will be ed, posted on Weebly, etc.

Communication If you have attendance issues, contact: ~Karli Smith ~Ashton Dawes ~Mr. Leist Check our Facebook page, Neuqua Theatre Site, look for s, text messages, etc. We will be in contact with you regarding scheduling changes, issues, etc. should they arise. TPA Parent Meeting = Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00 PM

Script Distribution Here come the scripts for principals! Please be sure to take good care of the libretto booklets. Salesmen and Newspaper readers have copies of pages 1-10! Ensemble members will be provided with copies of music, dialogue, etc.

The Story Slippery salesman Harold Hill arrives at the stuffy town of River City, Iowa in July of 1912 intending to cheat the community with his standard scam of establishing a boy's marching band. The irony is he has no musical skills whatsoever; in fact, hes only there to make money and is a notorious con-artist. Things go awry when he falls for a librarian he tries to divert from exposing him while he inadvertently enriches the town with a love of music.

My Vision River City, Iowa = Drab, dull, non-descript place; inhabitants are old and set in their ways Color and change = Harold and his impact on others provides the dynamics and development; though he is a swindler, Harold has the ability to use his magic to unlock the good in each of the citizens (Marian, Winthrop, Tommy, Quartet, Eulalie, etc.)

The Set

Q+A Questions or concerns? Before you leave…please see Karli and Ashton with conflicts (i.e. World Voices, Wildscats, etc.)
