Orientation enCompass Academy

Welcome!! I would like to take this moment to welcome you all to enCompass Academy! Believe it or not, we are in our fifteenth year as a charter school serving high school students in the northern Nevada area. This is our second year here in this facility with our great partnership with the boys and girls club.

Vision enCompass Academy will focus on the student’s relationship with themselves and the community, and how they can be empowered to connect to their world. enCompass is dedicated to serving the needs of all students, regardless of their educational past, and will provide appropriate coursework to support student achievement. enCompass will provide opportunities for students to learn in meaningful, authentic ways, and will encourage critical thinking to produce capable caring citizens. enCompass is committed to providing an accepting educational community for our diverse learners.

What does that mean for you?

A commitment to academic excellence. A focus on graduation, college-readiness, and college acceptance. Positive, working relationships. Relationships: it is a two way street. We are committed to working with you and your student.

What you can count on: Small class sizes. The support of not only enCompass, but the Boys and Girls Club. Support through graduation, and beyond. Authentic relationships.

They have the opportunity to take 14 classes each year. Students need to pass a minimum of 45 classes to graduate within four years. They have the opportunity to take 14 classes each year. Your student has a lot of responsibilities. We want to make sure that you know what they are expected to do.

Assessment Requirements Meeting or exceeding standard on End of Course Examinations: English 1 English 2 Algebra 1 Geometry Taking the ACT exam.

1 day If your student is missing an average of 1 day every two weeks, he/she may not be eligible to earn credit.

Attendance is critical to progress in classes.

Attendance Responsibilities Parents Contact the school to report excused absences within 3 days of the absence. Student Collect the makeup work within two days of your return. You have the number of days you were absent, plus one day, to make up work. Teacher Provide a clear avenue to make up assignments for ANY absence within two days.

We have resources, but we are not mind readers. Individual learning plan for each student. Options for credit recovery, including extended day. Options for honors options, including honors biology and calculus. Additional support services: on site counselor, social worker, and special education case manager. Unique programming to prepare seniors for life beyond graduation. On site application options On site FAFSA workshops On site scholarship options
