Adjectives An adjective is a word that describes people and things. ex. shy, reservado

Gender En español, adjectives have gender just like nouns. The masculine form normally ends in -o and the feminine form usually ends in -a.

Masculine Masculine adjectives are used to describe masculine nouns. The gender of the adjective needs to match the gender of the noun! ex. Juan es desordenado. Jorge es artístico. Usually, masculine nouns will end with -o

Feminine Feminine adjectives are used to describe feminine nouns. The gender of the adjective needs to match the gender of the noun! ex. Julia es desordenada. Laura es artística. Usually, feminine nouns will end with -a

-E adjectives Adjectives that end in -e are gender neutral and can describe both masculine and feminine nouns. ex. José es inteligente. María es inteligente.

-dor When adjectives end in -dor, they are masculine. To make -dor adjectives feminine, you add an -a to the end. ex. Carlos es trabajador. Daniela es trabajadora.

Rule Breaker There are some adjectives that end in -a that are gender neutral and do not change for the noun. ex. Luis es deportista. Valeria es deportista.

Plural Adjectives When a noun is plural, make sure the adjective is plural as well. Ex. Ella es interesante. Ellas son interesantes. *Just add an s to the end of the adjective to make it plural!
