PLEASE PICK UP A NEW LIFELINE… THEY’RE UP BY THE RULERS

GOOD MORNING/AFTERNOON Today’s Learning Targets: I can describe the different units and tools used to measure in the metric system. Kick-off Question: Which tool would you use to measure how much an apple weighs? (Hint: Use your metric tools from your engineering notebook for help). IQIA: The tool I would use to weigh an apple is… What we’re doing today Metric Measuring (see next slide for details) Homework: Make three metric questions based on weight, length, and volume.

Today…. Cornell Notes- Measuring Metric with Maggie Practice with Metric Each pair will have one computer to share amongst you. Google the website: Measuring Metrically with Maggie Read through the webpage & add Cornell notes to your engineering notebook (see box ). You must show me your notes before you move onto the Your Turn problems on the bottom of the website. Once you have done steps 1-3, you can do your homework. Essential Question: What are some of the main points that Maggie learned about the metric system? Liquids Mass Length Temperature Summary:

Today’s Learning Target: Exit Questions-Using IQIA (INSERT QUESTION INTO ANSWER) Which unit, kilograms or tonnes, would be better for measuring a car’s weight? IQIA: The better unit to measure a car’s weight is… Homework: Make three metric questions based on weight, length, and volume.
