Strategic Plan - Vietnam Roadmap Goals Veterinary Services Structure and Function Terrestrial Animal Health Veterinary Public Health Trade, Quarantine and Inspection Aquatic Animal Health 1. “A well coordinated national VS system that operates efficiently and effectively in the delivery of all its major trade, animal health and veterinary public health functions” 2. “A national VS that has good capacity to conduct surveillance, diagnose, report, control and eradicate disease outbreaks of national importance; especially HPAI, FMD, rabies, PRRS and CSF.” 3. “A national VS that protects the health of its citizens through appropriate animal production food safety management.” (note - for aquatics, this is under the responsibility of NAFIQAD) 4. “A national VS that protects its borders from disease risks arising from importation of animal and animal products, and supports sanitary measures and certification to facilitate the staged growth of niche export markets.” (note - for aquatics, this is under the responsibility of NAFIQAD, except for live aquatic animals.) 5. “Strengthening aquatic animal health services to support safe production and trade in aquatic animals”
