Lesson Plan-Coaching Up Observation Look For.. Domain 4 Rubric Agenda FAO Pre/Post Questions Lesson Plan-Coaching Up Observation Look For.. Domain 4 Rubric Video Calibration 4/9/2019

Formal Announced Observation (1 of 2) Evaluator schedules the FAO and pre-and post-conferences (teacher chooses class time) Teacher submits lesson plan through the portal 48 hours prior to the pre-conference Teacher and evaluator hold a pre-conference to discuss the lesson plan Evaluator observes lesson for at least 30 minutes Evaluator submits evidence with 24 hours

Formal Announced Observation (2 of 2) Teacher has the option to add evidence Teacher self-assesses on the rubric 24 hours prior to the post-conference Evaluator marks areas of agreement on the rubric and shares with the teacher prior to the post conference Teacher and evaluator meet for the post- conference to discuss and complete rubric All must occur within 10 working days from pre-conference to post-conference.

Pre/Post Conference Questions Focus should be professional growth for teachers and quality of learning environment for students Use reflective questions to drive the pre/post conference keeping the focus in mind Teachers should not be directed to answer the questions but questions should be used to guide the conversation Also ask teachers areas they would like additional support in

Teachers are encouraged to add evidence but are not required to Domain 4 Teachers are encouraged to add evidence but are not required to Evaluators should try to capture evidence during the observation if possible If not evidence is provided the teacher and the evaluator should rate the component NA
