Key Messages: Chairman “The Country Correspondents(CC) are the Vehicles through which ATAF engages with Members and therefore the CC contribution is invaluable.” To Maintain consistent & effective communication with ATAF The Timely provision of information to & from your administrations Clarification of the CC’s responsibilities, expectations and challenges that hinder their function Addressing the Key challenges regarding the Financial Sustainability of ATAF The value of ATAF’s interventions in dollar terms ( Each USD spent yields $800 additional revenue © 2017 - African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.

Action Points ATAF Secretariat Strengthening the operational capabilities within the secretariat Increase stakeholder engagements & outreach to Members of parliament & policy makers Engaging regional blocs- look at common areas that ATAF can work together on Write to new governments and newly appointed CGs and inform them of ATAFs work and its impact The secretariat to continue to build programmes that are relevant to the member countries. The Secretariat to provide updates to CGs that are not on the council on all activities Look into using staff from other RA to provide training and internships Provisional Venues for trainings, workshops and conferences to be included in the calendar of activities. Action Points ATAF Secretariat Share information from the different technical committees via a communique Strengthen communication and media coverage of the Impact of ATAF work Develop documents summarising recommendations & conclusions from ATAF publications Use of Regional Training Centres to be increased (Nigeria & Tanzania) Look into organising and experience sharing workshop which include all member countries (Francophone and Lusophone) Increase focus on trainings for Lusophone countries and look into developing an EMT program in Portuguese Develop a strategy to increase Lusophone and Francophone participation in ATAF events Look into Developing a committee that deals with Tax Matters(tax campaigns, revenue collection, structure) Indicate required number of participants in activity calendar © 2017 - African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.
