Get to Know Me My experience My background I’ve been teaching for 18 years. I taught 7th-10th grades and 5th grade. For the past 12 years, I have taught kindergarten. I grew up in In Moody. I attended Moody Jr, High and High School. I went to college at UAB. I have a BS in High School Ed and a MA in Elementary Ed.

My Family I am married to Todd Bell. I think he is Wonderful. Todd is a carpenter and has made my room for me and the kids. We have two children. Hannah and Joel. Hannah produces the news in Montgomery(WSFA) and Joel attends Highlands College. We also have three pets. Zane, our dog and Bitsy and Chris, our cats.

Classroom Community Our classroom rules help us get along with each other: Listen when your teacher is talking. Follow directions Quick. Raise your hand to speak. Keep your hands and your feet to your self. Be safe, Be kind, Be honest!

Class Subjects Reading and Writing Math Science and Technology Social Studies Music and Art

Reading We follow ARI. We have 90 minutes of reading daily. This includes whole group, small group, centers, and intervention. We will have AMSTI for math and science

Writing This goes along with the reading. We will be writing daily. Children are expected to be able to write stories by the end of the year. They are expected to use spelling, sight words, and end punctuation. Pictures should match the written sentences.

Math We follow the AMSTI presented by Alabama. Children must count to 150 or more, by 1’s, 5s’ and 10’s. Children should have number sense in counting and using counting sticks and ten frames. Children should be able to add and subtract a numbers under 100. Children should recognize and produce patters, shapes, sequences, etc.

Science and Technology Science is a must! This is a hands on time. We will use an Investigation style of study for science.

Social Studies All about me All About my World Then and Now Our Country Maps Others

Music, Art, Computer and Library Mrs. Meyers and Mrs. Mc Combs Twice a month. Library twice a month Mr. Seahorn Computer with Mr. Tuggle

Homework homework every night. Due on Friday morning Need extra time? Turn it in on Monday

Field Trips We have lots of fun field trips planned for this year! Might go to the Splash Pad We will have field trip shirts ours are blue in color

Tardiness School starts at 7:45 A.M. Running late? Check in at the school office before coming to class. Mornings Counts!!!!!! Your child must be here. The rules apply to everyone.

Lunch and Snack Lunch will be at or there about. Lunch can be purchased from the lunchroom –Purchase online –get the pin number tonight by the office. You must send a snack daily—a non sugar snack and a drink –non soda. The school does not provide snacks.

You must get your child’s bus number! Travel You must get your child’s bus number! I will not get these. You know your address and will not make a mistake. I will make a mistake on twenty children. All changes must be made in writing. I will not take your child’s word for it, that they are to go home a different way. Fill this form out form me tonight. One for the first day and one for the year. I will make a go home tag for your child to wear.
