8 Writing Half Hour of Writer’s Workshop each day. Writing Journals will be purchased as part of the $10 school supply fee.It is typical to start out drawing pictures or strings of letters, as the year progresses writing strings of letters will turn into small words, and then full sentences.Sight Words and Sight Word Soldiers

12 HomeworkHomework will be sent home on Fridays using the two pocket folder you purchased and will be returned the following ThursdayYou do not have to do homework on the weekends…Homework will consist of a reading log and a couple of worksheets to practice skills we are working on in class. Nothing will be sent home if we have not covered it in class first
13 Parent VolunteersMake sure to fill out a volunteer form located in the office and they will take a copy of your id. This is a 2 week process.I have an open door policy! All parents are welcome to help in our classroom and join us on field trips.I will have a volunteer sign up starting the first week of October.
