4 Class Dojo Class Dojo We will be using class dojo this year.
What is is? Class Dojo is a website/app that allows me to communicate with me. I am able to add important reminder and what we did for the day in the class story. I will also be using this as a behavior management tool. A separate handout explains how to get started and sign yourself up for Dojo. I hope to see you access this great tool. 7 We will not be having homework every single night for our core subjects.
I do ask that you read with your child daily. The more words your child is exposed to, the better reader they will become. You can read to them, have them read to you, take turns reading pages, etc. Along with reading, remember to practice spelling words daily. We always take our spelling tests on Friday unless noted otherwise. Things to work on at home: Reading daily Sightword practice Spelling Practice Math Facts Time and Money If you are looking for specific things to work on, please feel free to ask. 8 Please refer to the school handbook for a full explanation of the school’s dress code.
I am asking that each child provide an extra pair of clothes in their lockers for any accidents or spills that may happen. Each child needs to have additional pair of non-marking tennis shoes to wear in the gym for Phy. Ed. Tennis shoes or closed toes shoes are best to wear out on the playground for their safety. It can become chilly in the classroom, I recommend that each child has a sweat shirt or long sleeves in their locker. No jackets are to be worn in the classroom. Our weather has many changes throughout the school year. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the type of the weather for the day. Winter Must Haves: Gloves, hat, boots, winter coat, and snowpants **Please make sure that your child has their items marked. This will help us find the owner of items if they were to get lost.
