SOCIAL STUDIES FAIR!

ENGLISH: SOCIAL STUDIES: What are we doing? ENGLISH: Writing a 5 paragraph essay about one of the Ancient civilizations we learned about in Social Studies. SOCIAL STUDIES: Taking the information from the essay and creating a presentation poster of information about that civilization.

Pick your INDIVIDUAL topic! Starting Off: Choose your groups of 3. Pick people you can work well with! You may have to meet outside of school. Draw for civilization. Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, Rome, Aztec, Maya, Inca, or Middle Ages. Pick your INDIVIDUAL topic! Choose from the list of approved topics. SHOW TOPIC WORKSHEET…GIVE SOME IDEAS BASED ON WHAT IS ON THE WORKSHEET!

TOPICS MUST BE OKAYED BY ME!!

SOCIAL STUDIES POSTER: DUE FRIDAY, MAY 7th! Title of Civilization (Egypt) Individual Topic Title: (Pharaohs, Mummies & Afterlife, Pyramids) Information: 3 “blurbs”/summaries of information taken from your essay. Information must be typed or written neatly in black pen.

SOCIAL STUDIES POSTER: VISUAL AIDS Each Poster MUST have: THREE pictures from topic Pictures can be taken from clip art, internet, or hand drawn. All pictures from internet or clip art MUST be printed at home! You may NOT print any pictures at school. The pictures need to relate to your topic. Maps, Primary Sources, Timelines, Clipart, Etc. USE A VARIETY OF COLORS TO MAKE WORDS AND PICTURES STAND OUT!

EVERYONE must share information about their part! PRESENTATION: 5-10 minute presentation EVERYONE must share information about their part! Do not read the information, present it! Be creative: Do a news story, talk show, dress up, etc. Be prepared--PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
