Classroom Applications http://www.voki.com/ What is it? How to? Voki enables users to express themselves on the web using a talking character. They create the character and the dialogue. Begin by going to the site and creating a free account. Select a character from  many styles. There are a lot of options for customization. You can adjust hair/skin/eye/lip color, choose different clothes, and change the size of the avatar and their facial features. Add Voice. Here, you have the option of typing in text or recording your own voice. Choose Background Choose a background from the voki library or upload your own. Click Publish to email to a friend or get access code. Classroom Applications Summarize text Summarize a series of events or explain cause and effect different perspectives “Getting to Know Me” strategies Works well with gallery walk or jigsaw strategy

Animoto has a user-friendly storyboard format to make it easy to create high-quality slideshows.  Click "Create Video“. Navigate to www.toondoo.com, create an account, log in. 2. Locate the Toondoo Tools and click ToonDoo Maker. 3. Select your background, characters, props, and text bubbles. Notice that some categories have more than one page of choices. Click and drag your choices to your comic. Notice that there is a toolbar at the bottom of the page to adjust size of objects, flip and rotate objects, and change the emotions of characters. 4. To save, Click the Main Menu tab in the upper right and select Save As. Classroom Applications Toondoo can be used in the literacy classroom to show an understanding of text, character, setting, etc. Toondoo can provide a creative outlet for students who are interested in comic building.  It provides a great way to summarize, but also to create!

A Glog is an interactive visual platform in which users create a “poster or web page” containing multimedia elements including: text, audio, video, images, graphics, drawings, and data. A Glog is created using a very easy to understand, drag and drop interface that is relevant, enjoyable, and scalable for students of all ages and learning styles. Go to http://goanimate.com/Create a free account by clicking "Sign Up“ After you have logged in, click on "Make a Video“ Browse and choose the template of your choice, choose characters, then type in the dialogue in the dialogue boxes. After you have completed the dialogue, click on make movie, and you can see your movie! Students can then share their link to their movie with you, and you can watch it. Classroom Applications This one is easy and fast, and you don't waste a lot of time with technical procedures. Can be used to summarize information Can be used to create stories, and provides easy outlet for this creation with predeveloped settings and characters Can be used to discuss topics/ideas, and debate two points of view

Classroom Applications http://www.capzles.com/ What is it? How to? Capzles.com is a site that allows users to tell a story in a timeline format using pictures, video clips, audio tracks and text. The Create tab on the navigation bar gives users access to the capzle creation applet used by the site. Users then add their media moments individually and choose the background colors and theme to be used with the capzle. They can also add descriptions for each moment. Users can also add an audio track to be played in the background as their capzle is viewed. The capzle creation applet is very well designed and easy to use. LiveBinders is an tool that works like web folders in a digital 3-ring binder.  Create an account. You can begin a new binder by clicking the Create Binder tab at the top. Fill in the form, and get started. Once in your binder you will see tabs at the top. Click a tab to get started. When you have selected a tab, you can insert your link and click the button. Each tab has a menu that will allow you to move, delete, and add tabs. In the Edit menu where you add other media like docs, spreadsheets, audio, video and PDFs. You can also change the layout of a page. There are options like titles, text and media and tables. Classroom Applications Great storage tool! Access to various information needed for projects/units of study. Interactive textbook. Organize student work. Differentiation (You could offer students a bingo sheet with a variety of technology choices, and then allow them to build their own binder with their choices. Then, they can create a tab for each choice, and directly link it to their project, or upload Word and PDF docs. )
