3 A few more strategies to explore 4 MAT: This is a complex model of instruction that incorporates brain research, learning styles, and actually mirrors the way the brain functions. Instruction moves through a process of engagement/involvement.4 MAT RAFT :a writing strategy format that helps students focus on audience, format, role and topic. RAFTs encourage choice, creativity, and variety and are differentiated by interest and/or learning profile. RAFTs can be implemented into any subject, and is an excellent way to assess students' synthesis of the instruction being received.RAFT

4 CubingCubing: An instructional strategy that asks students to consider a concept from a variety of different perspectives. The cubes are six-sided figures that have a different activity on each side of the cube. A student rolls the cube and does the activity that comes up. each side of the cube has a different prompt: describe it, compare it, associate it, analyze it, apply it, evaluate it. Think DotsThink Dots: ThinkDOTS is a great activity for students to construct meaning for themselves and to engage in processing their learning. It is a strategy used to review, demonstrate, and extend thinking. Choice is given to the students but they still complete the required learning tasks – just in the order they roll the die. ThinkDOTS may also be used as a formative assessment tool.

10 Webquests: A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity, which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the Internet. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.Webquests Blogger Why not let students start a blog for their class? Assign students to be "guest blogger" and let them write about what is happening in the classroom.
