Development and Employment Team

The Five Year Forward

Exemplar meeting

Our health and wellbeing principle

The case for engagement Engaged staff think and act in a positive way about the work they do, the people they work with and the organisation that they work in. Research shows that where staff engagement scores are high, scores are also significantly higher for patient satisfaction and lower for standardised hospital mortality rates.

Elements of engagement intrinsically motivating - advocate for the organisation - involved in decision making

Evidence Staff with high levels of engagement show: Increased commitment A belief in their organisation A desire to work to make things better Suggesting improvements Working well in teams Helping colleagues A likelihood to ‘go the extra mile’

Organisational Development
