MOCK TEST 13 (2013-14) DETAILED ANALYSIS

Expected Time to Complete INTRODUCTION Mock Test 13 follows the NLU-D pattern wherein the students are subjected to the same level of difficulty both in terms of question type and level. The mock test comprises of five sections with a total of 150 questions. A student is expected to attempt this test in an actual test like environment wherein he has 90 minutes to complete the test and thus need to schedule his/her time accordingly. Legal aptitude This section had 35 questions on Legal Aptitude comprising of both Legal Reasoning as well as Legal Knowledge. The section consisted of: Legal Reasoning (20 questions) Legal Knowledge (15 questions) Overall, the section was of Moderate difficulty level. The Legal Reasoning section specifically tested the ability of students to understand and interpret the legal principles and application of the same to factual matrix to reach the best answer. The reasoning portion was a very balanced part as it had questions from most of the topics. And, in order to answer the questions based on Legal Knowledge, students were expected to have some basic knowledge of various concepts under Constitutional Law, Torts Law and further to be acquainted with general legal principles. An attempt of around 32-33 would be considered a good attempt for this section.

details Legal Reasoning: The Legal Reasoning of Mock 13 was having a Moderate difficulty level. This section was dominated by questions from Criminal Law and Law of Torts along with other questions from Contracts Law, Constitutional Law, Family Law, Intellectual Property law and International Law. details Question 13 -- 14: This question has got 2 principles, one explanation and a set of facts. The question is on the principles from criminal law. The first principle states that a person shall be convicted for the offence of violation of law in force at that time and the penalty should not be greater than that prescribed under the law. The second principle states that no person can be forced to be a witness against his own self. The explanation given states that a person below the age of 12 is considered Juvenile and cannot be subjected to imprisonment of more that 18 months. W.r.t. question 13, directing the person to give blood sample does not qualify as asking a person to be a witness against himself. Such a direction is only a part of the investigation process. Hence, (d) is the correct option. W.r.t. question 14, the sentence given by the court is more than what is allowed by law for Juveniles, hence, option (c) is the correct answer.

There are two principles and an explanation describing what is Recognition and the two types of recognition i.e. express recognition and implied recognition. W.r.t the fact situation, when India invited President of Fiji for the summit of nations heads of emerging nations, it impliedly recognized the statehood of Fiji. Therefore, when India challenged the vote of Fiji arguing that it is not a sovereign state, India cannot do so because it has itself impliedly recognized the state of Fiji.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE This section of MOCK TEST – 13 has 35 questions in all. This test primarily focused on Static GK, and more precisely on history followed by geography. Out of total 35 questions, 24 questions were from static GK rest was from current GK. Current GK was mainly oriented towards Sports and misc. Application based questions could be dealt with if certain details were clearly inferred. The passage needed to be read meticulously, it would have been a better approach to go through the questions before the passage. All the questions should have been attempted.
