THREE IMPORTANT AMENDMENTS WERE ADDED TO THE CONSTITUTION  13TH - FREED SLAVES  14TH - CITIZENSHIP  15TH - RIGHT TO VOTE CANNOT BE DENIED  BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF YOUR SKIN

4. THE NATIONAL UNION WAS PRESERVED 5. THE FEDERAL SYSTEM WAS UNDERSTOOD TO BE ONE IN WHICH NATIONAL LAWS WERE SUPREME; SECESSION OF A STATE WOULD NEVER AGAIN BE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED 6. DEEP RESENTMENT ON THE PART OF THE SOUTHERN STATES 7. APPROXIMATELY 620,000 DIED A. NORTH - 360,000(ABOUT) - 22 MILLION B. SOUTH - 1/4 OF ITS SOLDIERS DIED - 9.5 MILLION 8. SPURRED ECONOMIC GROWTH
