VoIP

VoIP is the system which helps to transmit telephone calls and send faxes over IP-based data networks with a suitable quality at low cost.

Why VoIP ❏ Helps to improve Multimedia communication. ❏ Helps for integration of voice and data network. ❏ Helps in cost reduction for long distance telephone calls

Let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages.

ADVANTAGES ➔ Lower Cost:- Voip services are more cheaper than standered phone services, and in many cases, free to use. This is especially helpful for long distance international calls. ➔ Portability:- VoIP can be accessed wherever you can access the internet.Ideal for users with high mobility. ➔ Many Features:- VoIP offers many features not commonly found in traditional phone: Multi-party calling,Call waiting/forwarding,Caller ID,and Caller ID blocking.

DISADVANTAGES ● Quality of Service:- VoIP services totally depends on network quality, without network you can't make calls and send files to anyone. ● Security Reasons:- VoIP has many security risk like Viruses and Malware,Call Tampering and Man-in-the-Middle Attacks ● Power Dependency:- Unlike traditional phone lines, the modem, router,PC and other VoIP hardware it also depends on an electric power supply.

Conclusion VoIP is a new technology which enables voices to be delivered using IP. Alternative to switch old telephone to VoIP services. The main focus of Voip is to avoid long distance charges and other fees.
