Manifest Destiny Lousiana Purchase- most of the west was bought from France- Napolieon, 1803 Thomas Jefferson thought there would be land for thousandths of generations of expansion It was a fever that hit the U.S. to move west Americans believe that moving westward was destined and ordained by God!! So they began expanded all the way to the Pacific Ocean
