Marine Strategy Status Oct 2002: Communication towards a marine strategy (COM(2002) 539) proposal for an ambitious roadmap for developing marine policy with enhanced cooperation of various organisations involved Dec 2002: Stakeholder Conference first steps and suggestions for further work March 2003: Council Conclusions expressed broad support for approach taken underlined of the need to cooperate with regional organisations requested to present ‘Marine Strategy’ not later than May 2005 May 2003: Parliament is about to adopt Resolution it is expected the the EP will generally endorse the approach taken
