PE and Sports premium statement 2018-19 The premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, in the 2018 to 2019 academic year, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. Key achievements to date: Areas for further improvement:  Improved playground equipment to increase sporting challenge Additional sporting opportunities at events A wider variety of sporting after-school clubs offered Competitive sport teams started Additional exercise timetabled for all classes  Achieve 85% of children to swim 25m by Year 6 Embed and improve morning workout Further CPD for teachers in P.E. Football coaching club at lunchtime Analyse swimming data to offer additional catch up sessions Increase the opportunities for competitive sport Resourcing to be continually reviewed and updated

Swimming achievements Meeting national curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety Please complete all of the below*: What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres? 71% What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]? What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations? 22% Schools can choose to use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to provide additional provision for swimming but this must be for activity over and above the national curriculum requirements. Percentage of total allocation: Academic Year: 2018/19 Total fund allocated: £18,360 Date Updated: October 2018 Date to be reviewed: July 2019   1: The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity Percentage of total allocation: 38% School focus with clarity on intended impact on pupils: Actions to achieve: Funding allocated: Evidence and impact: Sustainability and suggested next steps:  Improved opportunities to partake in physical exercise to support learning and mental well being.  More staff in the playground at playtime and lunchtime to facilitate physical activities Wider range of equipment to engage and motivate children Rotation of sports/equipment weekly in the playground Staff trained in a range of sports to manage effectively Playground divided in to zones to ensure space for activities Field marked up to facilitate a range of team sports Year 5/6 to become buddies to organise and run sporting activities Pupil voice used to decide activities/sports Timetable change to reflect regular morning workout Morning workout activities developed and use of equipment included – whole school resources bought Trim trail bought and installed in playground Tennis table added to range of activities at lunchtime  £6960 2: The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement 8%  Pupils share sporting achievements throughout the wider community Medals and trophies to celebrate achievement News papers and Mayor invited to celebration ceremonies PE page on the website promoting the PE in school. Termly PE newsletter uploaded on the website and given out to parents. Teams sent to local and school to school events Work closely with KSports to promote events and achievements Use of sports leaders from the Malling School to support events and promote through both schools Support Infant school sports day with Year 6 to promote sport and give rewards for the support Sports day to become part of a Healthy Schools week and involve speakers and competitive games including Paralympic ones to be celebrated at the end of the week  £1400

Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport Percentage of total allocation: 11% School focus with clarity on intended impact on pupils: Actions to achieve: Funding allocated: Evidence and impact: Sustainability and suggested next steps: Pupils have knowledgeable teachers who can support and challenge them in a range of physical activities. CPD training on equipment in school, share ideas about how different pieces of equipment can be used. Training provide in areas of PE that teachers feel less confident in teaching. Ensure all staff are trained in the scheme of work Clear curriculum expectation and progression map  £2000 4: Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils 38% All pupils will have had the opportunity to try 5 new sports or activities Workshops/activities provided for children to learn new activities. Children will have the opportunity to teach these activities/games to other year groups. CPD training for staff to attend to learn new skills/activities to teach to their classes/year groups and the whole school. Specialist sports included at events for children to try. £7000 5: Increased participation in competitive sport 5%  By the end of the year we will have atleast 2 competitive teams that have competed in matches regularly Football matches to be organised by SL for our football club members. Netball matches to be organised by SL for our netball club members. Identify team players through sports day and after school clubs Offer opportunities for children to play in competitions Create sustainability of teams through systems of training £1000
