2 Workshop Aims At the end of this workshop you will have:
A clear understanding of the PE & Sport premium funding and what it can be used for. Reviewed case studies and discussed ideas on how the funding can be used 3. Knowledge of what information is required online to satisfy funding criteria.

3 PE & Sport Premium £8,000, plus £5 per head for years 1 -6
Payment dates – October and April (November and May for Academies) Ring Fenced for additional and sustainable improvements to PE & Sport Refer to Department for Education handout You should not use your funding to: employ coaches or specialist teachers to cover planning preparation and assessment (PPA) arrangements - these should come out of your core staffing budgets teach the minimum requirements of the national curriculum - including those specified for swimming (or, in the case of academies and free schools, to teach your existing PE curriculum)

Vision for the Primary PE & Sport Premium ALL pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport

The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement 3. Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport 4. Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils Increased participation in competitive sport

9 Ofsted The PE coordinator and a nominated governor will be expected to discuss the impact the PE and School Sport Premium has had in your school Ofsted will assess how primary schools spend their PE and Sport Premium under the ‘effectiveness of leadership and management’ section of the inspection: ‘How effectively leaders use the primary PE and Sport Premium and measure its impact on outcomes for pupils, and how effectively governors hold them to account for this’ Ofsted school inspection handbook, page 38
