Our Quest The quest of our team is that all students will grow emotionally, socially, and academically in a safe and secure environment. As teachers we will share instructional responsibilities, across all content areas, in order to directly support student learning and personal growth.

Our Navigation In order to successfully conquer our quest, we will be using the following strategies: Co-teaching triads Workshop Models Inquiry Lessons Differentiated Instruction and Assessments Formative Assessment & Flexible Grouping Conferring

What is a co-teaching triad? A co-teaching triad is when three teachers share the responsibility of teaching all students, all content. Responsibilities may look different, depending on the material or subject matter being taught.

Workshop Model The workshop model entails: a mini-lesson independent work conferring sharing. Most students will come into 4th grade already having done the workshop model. Last year, the workshop model was conducted by one teacher for each subject. This year, your child will have the opportunity to be taught by all three teachers within the workshop setting.

Inquiry Based Learning Inquiry based learning is where students are presented with a topic and then build upon their knowledge by developing inquiry questions that they will then research and synthesize.

Differentiated Instruction & Assessments We believe that all students learn differently and at their own rate. Our goal is to determine where each child is, how best they learn, and then move them along the academic continuum.

Formative Assessment & Flexible Grouping Formative Assessments will be used to determine students’ current knowledge. That information will then help us to form flexible learning groups. Since students may be strong in one area and not another, these groups will constantly be changing.

Conferring Conferring is when teachers and students meet one-on-one or in a small group to discuss the student’s strengths, goals, and next steps.

As always, we are looking forward to another wonderful year of enhancing students' educational careers by making learning enjoyable! Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about our classrooms. Please continue to visit our websites as we will be updating it on a regular basis.
