3 STRETCH Learning! STudents REaching Towards new CHallenges
Approximately 45 minutes at the beginning of each day Monday – Thursday Stretch is a Pass/Fail class Stretch period was created to meet the individual needs of our students. Most of our students will be engaged in lessons designed to teach Tahoma School District Future Ready Skills, College and Career Readiness Lessons, Financial Literacy (Insurance, investing, savings, etc.) and/or Computer Science Skills. The intent is for students to be able to explore strengths and interests.

4 STRETCH Learning! STudents REaching Towards new CHallenges
We also will be using this period for small class sizes of identified students that will receive support in Math and ELA by trained intervention teachers. Some students will be able to use this time to get just in time support for specific content areas such as Math, Science, and ELA. Belief that this time is too valuable not to move students forward towards Future Ready vision.

6 Major Assignments or Assessments
Each unit will have an “end of the unit” (Summative) assessment. These assessments are common throughout the district. There will also be classwork, labs, and quizzes done throughout each unit Projects and other major assignments will be done in class Formative work: 40% (Analysis Questions, Labs, Quizzes, Daily Assignments, etc.) these can be redone prior to the end of a unit Summative Assessments: 60% (District Unit Assessments) these can’t be redone

7 Extra Support Homework lunch - a great place for students to redo any labs or quizzes. Students can eat their lunch and complete their assignments. Students may opt themselves into this or it can also be teacher assigned. Also a nice way to make up work if students are absent. Monday thru Friday Homework centers another great place to redo lab, quizzes and tests. Since tests take a longer amount of time students will be asked to redo test after school. This is also a wonderful time to ask one on one questions of me as I am available most days  We also have activity buses. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2:30-4:00. Study guides will be given to students about a week prior to Unit Assessments so students can take time to prepare and ask questions.

8 More Support Quizlet.com is a free way site to create study cards, play matching games and test their knowledge about topics we are learning. This is a picture of a Seasons quiz I came across. I will be using this for the first time as a teacher and as a parent with my own son
