During the year children will be taught and will write in the three types of writing:
Narrative writing
Small moment
Informative writing
Expert pieces
Opinion writing
Reviews and Letters

9. Writing Workshop Includes: Mini lesson
10 minutes long
Independent and/or Guided Writing
20 – 25 minutes
Conferencing
Will occur during independent time.
Sharing
Students will have time to share their work with the class.

10. Reading
In first, second, and third grade, the reading program is composed of a variety of reading types. A few of these include:
