Marching SPOTS Competition Marching Band Not be enrolled in any class/activity that interferes with morning rehearsal schedule or posted performance schedule Perform at all home and away football games Perform at all marching band competitions & District related events Attend August band camps Attend all scheduled marching band rehearsals during the school year. Summer Band Camp What youll need Be 15 minutes early and ready to play/march on the grid by the assigned time Bring a WATER JUG with your name on it (full of water!) Wear light colored clothing to reflect the suns rays Wear a hat and sunglasses, tennis shoes WEAR SUNSCREEN & bring more to REAPPLY Music Instrument w/ mouthpiece/reeds, valve oil, slide grease, swab cloth, etc.

What does the day look like? We will be OUTSIDE during the morning block to work on: Marching Fundamentals Drill Body Movement LUNCH BREAK (Parent Volunteers Wanted) We will be INSIDE during the afternoon block to work on: Music More Music!

Freshman Adoption During band camp, our upper classmen adopt a freshman At the end of band camp, there is an adoption ceremony Our current students are excited to meet our new additions to the SOS Band Family!

Uniforms throughout the year FRIDAY – Pep Rally & Competition Day: khaki shorts, show shirt, and band cap Games – LONG Black socks, compression shorts, gloves, Under Armour, bibs*, jacket*, Shako, gauntlets, marching shoes (*guard uniform) Concert – Winter Concert, UIL, Spring Concert, etc. – Gentlemen=tuxedo (black pants, black jacket, white dress shirt, black bow tie, black shoes, LONG black socks) – Ladies=ALL BLACK (arms & legs completely covered, sensible neck line. Skirts/dresses hit below the knee and wear black hose/tights/stockings)
