Perry High School 2016-2017 Anticipated Offerings English AP English Language – juniors/ seniors AP English Literature – seniors Math AP Calculus AB - accelerated math seniors AP Statistics - juniors/seniors Science AP Biology – juniors/seniors AP Chemistry – juniors/seniors AP Environmental – sophomores –seniors AP Computer Science – juniors/seniors Social Studies AP World History – sophomores/seniors AP US History – juniors AP Macroeconomics- seniors Fine Arts AP Studio Art – juniors/seniors AP Music Theory- sophomores/juniors/seniors Academic Elective AP Psychology – juniors/seniors

AP Registration Process/Timeline Registration forms and one-page course syllabi available tonight in the commons area (Counseling office during school hours). AP teachers are available after this session to provide information about courses and answer any questions students/parents may have. Student/parents review, complete, and sign the registration form and return it to the counseling office on or before Wednesday, January 27th . Students applying for one or two courses with appropriate pre-requisites will be pre-registered for the course(s). Thursday, January 28th – AP Committee meets afterschool to review the registration of any students registering for more than two AP classes. Week of February 1st – Students notified of classes that will not make due to lack of enrollment and advised of recommendations from the AP Committee. February 29th – March 2nd(Evening Advisement) – AP registration is finalized.

Things to consider… Deciding on which and how many AP courses a student should take is a team effort that includes students, parents, and teachers AP classes are year-long commitments Data such as class grades and PSAT scores can be a great indicator of potential success but are not the only factors considered Motivation, time management, and determination are factors that while hard to measure, can drastically affect success in AP classes as well as college
