Its all about CREDITS! (NOT how many years youve been in High School) 5 credits = advance to 10 th grade (and behind a 2 credit) 11 credits = advance to 11 th grade ( and still behind credits) 18 credits = advance to 12 th grade (must be caught up in credits)

Offered by the state of Florida For use at State Colleges or Universities or Technical Schools in Florida The information about this scholarship program is important for 9 th graders 3.0 MINIMUM Grade Point Average (GPA) starts in 9 th grade! AP – Advanced Placement courses – rigorous curriculum through College Board. Course final exam – 3 or higher – college credit may be obtained. APS – Advanced Placement Scholars Program will be offered in 5 high schools and students competing this earn a seal on their diploma and recognition from College Board DE – Dual Enrollment – allows student to take college classes (from Valencia College) no fee but student must have 3.0+ GPA unweighted

PSAT –students can take these in 9 th, 10 th and 11 th grades – pre-college admissions testing. Florida pays for the testing in 10 th grade. FCAT – Mandatory – Required to pass the 10 th grade test for graduation. Reading, Math, Writing and Science. Free through the state. SAT –college admissions test taken in 11 th and 12 th grade. ACT – college admissions test taken in 11 th and 12 th grade. PERT – College placement test given by Community Colleges – taken in 11 th -12 th grades - free
