4 How do I Become a College Athlete?
If you want to play sports in college you must become familiar with NCAA!

5 What is NCAA? The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is an agency that oversees and sets the requirements for participation in college level sports.

6 What is the Purpose of ? The NCAA has a set of regulations & requirements that student athletes must meet before they can be accepted to play for any NCAA college.

7 What Colleges Belong to ?
There are over 1,300 colleges across the United States that are governed by the NCAA.

9 What College Sports Can I Play?
Fall cross-country Field hockey Football Soccer Women’s Volleyball Men’s Water polo Winter Sports Basketball Bowling Fencing Gymnastics Ice hockey Mixed skiing Swimming and Diving Indoor track and field Wrestling Spring Sports Baseball and Softball Golf Lacrosse Rowing Tennis Outdoor track and field Men's volleyball Women's water polo

10 Who can play for college?
Male or Female High School Student Athletes

11 How do I become an athlete?
Meet al of the NCAA academic requirements with a 2.0 – 2.3 Core GPA (excluding PE and elective) Be a dedicated athlete and outstanding leader on your team.

12 Academic Requirements
ENGLISH 4 YEARS MATH 3 YEARS 3 YEARS (ALG I & Higher) SCIENCE 2 YEARS (1 YEAR MUST HAVE A LAB) + 1 YEAR EXTRA OF EITHER ENGLISH, MATH OR SCIENCE HISTORY/ SOCIAL SCIENCE 2 YEARS FOREIGN LANGUAGE OR PERFORMING ARTS 1 YEAR ELECTIVES (COLLEGE PREP) 70 CREDITS + 4 YEARS OF ANY OF THE CLASSES ABOVE P.E.

13 You must also… Compete 10 of academic required courses by the START of your senior year. Have a MININUM OF 2.3 Grade Point Average in your CORE COURSES. TAKE THE SAT OR ACT (College entrance exams). REGISTER WITH NCAA BY 10TH

14 Why should I play for a college?
More than $2.7 billion is given to student athletes each year for school, living and medical expenses. The most rewarding part about becoming a NCAA college athlete is that it will provide the best opportunities for you to learn, graduate college and become a professional athlete.
