Sexual Identity Sexuality - the feelings and attitudes a person has about his/her body, sex and relationships. Your sexuality is influenced from birth (male or female). Sex Role - the way a person acts and the feelings/attitudes he/she has about being male or female. Also includes expectations people have for other males/females. (accepting who one is and who one wants to be) Your parents influence your sex roles

Expectations of Self As you prepare for the responsibilities of adulthood, you should include an evaluation of your actions. You can develop self-respect if your actions are responsible. Self-Respect - a high regard for oneself because one behaves in a responsible way. Self-Esteem - a person’s belief about his/her worth. Conceit - excessive appreciation of one’s self-worth.

Expectations cont. Character - a person’s use of self control to act on responsible values. Self-Control - the degree to which a person regulates his/her own behavior. Example: Lets say you bought something at the store and gave the cashier 10.00….well, the cashier gave you change back for a 20.00. Would you keep it? Don’t write blue

Expectations of Interpersonal Relationships One should have the same expectations in a partner as they would have of themselves. Relationships are not a “one-way street”. They require give and take. You should not treat someone any differently than you would want to be treated.

Class work #3 Textbook page 88-90 Do objective #2 (List the 12 ideals only) Then, number the 12 ideals, in the order of importance to you, as you would teach a child.
