Specialized Instruction at KMS

Language! LANGUAGE! The Comprehensive Literacy Curriculum® provides intensive intervention. It integrates reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and spoken English, rapidly advancing students (grades 3–12) who score below the 40th percentile on standardized tests.

Language! at KMS Students who qualify have 84 minutes per day of Language! instruction in place of regular education reading and English class. Students are progress monitored for oral and silent reading fluency. 80% mastery is required to advance to a new skill area Spiraling enhances retention of previously learned skills

TransMath TransMath provides teachers with explicit instruction and mathematical support that promotes effective teaching of math concepts. Innovative engagement strategies and Smart Board technology. TransMath provides students with in-depth, sequential skill building of foundational math concepts through a balanced approach of reform-based and procedural instruction. Promotes problem-solving proficiency and vocabulary development. Spiraling of learned skills enhances student retention.
