SEVEN DIETARY GUIDELINES NUTRIENTS SEVEN DIETARY GUIDELINES

1. Eat a variety of foods.

6-11 servings of bread, cereal, rice, and pastas

2-4 servings of fruit

2-3 servings of milk, yogurt, and cheese

2-3 servings of meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts

Fats, oils, and sweets used sparingly

2. Maintain a healthy weight For height, age, sex and body build.

3. Choose a diet low in fat.

4. Choose a diet with plenty of fruit, vegetables, and grain products.

5. Use Sugar Sparingly

6. Use salt and sodium only in moderation.

7. If of legal age, drink alcohol in moderation. Moderation is defined as 1 ounce of pure alcohol or less a day. Pregnant woman should not drink at all.
