4 STEPS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT O Initiation O Planning O Execution O Closure

INITIATION The initiation phase of a project involves an overall description of the task and what is required. O The purpose of the project, including its objectives O The Mission/Vision Statement O The time period for the project O The required staff and the resources needed

PLANNING The planning stage involves creating an Action Plan and assigning individual duties to team members. O Action Plan O Assign individual duties

Execution (Coordination) The execution phase involves orchestrating the activities of the actual project by following the teams Action Plan. O Make adjustments to Action Plan O Inform stakeholders of adjustments and their potential effect on the project O Completion of Action Plan O Presentation of results

CLOSURE The project is finalized after completion of all activities. O Review the project, including successes and the failures, and their impact on the final result O Make a final report including observations concerning the project and any recommendations for future projects
