The Catalyst Challenge Fund 2017-18 The Aims: Highlight great arts and health projects in the South West Encourage individual giving to arts and health projects Help the sector find new income streams Develop fundraising capacity and skills in our sector Enhance AHSW’s understanding of the current need and potential in the sector

The Catalyst Challenge Fund 2017-18 How to apply: Organisations ‘register their interest’ via an email to catalyst@ahsw.org.uk to receive an application pack Organisations complete a very short form and submit a ‘Case for Support’ BY 5pm 31 January 2018. 3 organisations will be selected. We aim to notify all applicants of the outcome on 16 February 2018.

The Catalyst Challenge Fund 2017-18 Raising Funds: Successful applicants will: Proactively market their own projects. Work with the AHSW Catalyst Project Officer to ensure marketing is coordinated. Share learning from their appeal with AHSW members in ways to be agreed with the Catalyst Project Officer.

The Catalyst Challenge Fund 2017-18 Why a Case for Support? The Case for Support will be our primary consideration in evaluating applications. We want to keep this application process simple – we know our sector is stretched. Lets use a tool you have… or perhaps should. Hopefully the process of this application can be helpful to you! You know best what you need

The Catalyst Challenge Fund 2017-18 What should be in the Case for Support? For this application, the Case for Support should be no longer than 3 A4 sides. Within this, it can include images. You should structure your case for support under the following headings: About our organisation Why our work is important and the need for what we do What difference we make How we involve beneficiaries How we will use the money if we are successful

The Catalyst Challenge Fund 2017-18 Developing your Case for Support: You are not alone http://www.artscouncil.org.uk/why-culture-matters/making-case https://www.artsprofessional.co.uk/magazine/286/article/building-stronger-case-support https://fundraising.co.uk/2012/04/10/secret-great-case-study/#.Wha7ckpl8dU https://www.managementcentre.co.uk/making-your-case/ http://www.thefundraisingauthority.com/strategy-and-planning/nonprofit-case-for-suppor/
