OSFAC’s Perspectives on Way Forward and Next Steps GOFC-GOLD Regional Networks Summit Tbilisi, Georgia 15 September 2017 OSFAC’s Perspectives on Way Forward and Next Steps Presented by : Landing MANE

OSFAC Continuing Engagement Facilitating access to satellite images and products in Central Africa through free distribution to users. 2. Strengthen the capacity of National institutions, Civil society, NGOs and Universities in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing and digital mapping 3. Monitoring forest cover, changes and carbon stocks using satellite data / REDD+ (analysis of deforestation, degradation*; quantification of biomass, carbon and emissions) 4) Mapping Land Cover /Land Use (to prepare Land Management System implementation in Central Africa countries). 6. Support and implement the initiatives developed under the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP) / cf COMIFAC Convergence Plan 2015-2025.

Recommendations Clarification of expectation of GOFC-GOLD from Regional Networks 2) Improve communication between GOFC-GOLD Secretariat (Coordinator) and Regional networks 3) Search of funds to organise periodic strategics meetings between the member of the same Regional Network / training trainers
