Creating an exam question This can be using Natural hazards or Urban issues and challenges content It must start with: Explain Evaluate Discuss Assess Suggest Justify To what extent The question must be 6 or 9 marks (9 marks will involves a case study) Topics: Plate margins Effects OR response of earthquake or tropical storm Monitoring, prediction, protection, planning of hazards Cause of tropical storms Extreme weather in the UK Evidence for climate change Effects of climate change on people and the environment Managing climate change Factors affecting the rate of urbanisation Megacities Mumbai – challenges and opportunities Mumbai – How urban planning is improving the quality of life for the urban poor

Answering exam questions You will now pass the sheet to four different people: Annotate the question – what are the command words and key words? What do they mean? What is the case study? The first point and explanation/expansion of that point (using facts and/or statistics) The second point and explanation/expansion of that point (using facts and/or statistics) For 9 marks - the third point and explanation/expansion of that point (using facts and/or statistics) For 6 marks – check all the content, what else can you add in?
