Presentation transcript:

iReport and Concept Mapping 1 How do you start a Concept Map? First you have to create the nodes. Concept Mapping is the process of creating concept maps for learning. This tool enhances the understanding of new concepts and the relationships between them. Concept Maps are composed of propositions defined by two concept nodes and one connecting link.

2 What should I write in the nodes? You should start with the new concepts that we learned about the skeletal system. The most important thing about creating the nodes is to arrange them in a hierarchical order. However, the organization depends on the understanding of the learner.

3 Don’t forget that you have to create the links between the nodes. The nodes have to be connected by links (arrows) that show the relationships between the concepts.

4 Yes, we need to send our teacher the URL, so that she can grade it and give us feedback. After we finish our concept map, we need to create it in iReport. iReport is a web-based media management content system that allows students to easily create, share and store visual presentations using digital contents.

5 Great! I downloaded some images from Google last night. I have them in My library. We should start with the node and add a picture of the skull for better understanding. iReport allows students to create their concept maps with digital videos and images. This concept maps have a URL address that can be emailed to the teacher for evaluation and feedback.

Don’t forget to add the link and attached the video we recorded last week. 6 Got it! I will include the video and I will email this to Miss Olaciregui. iReport provides a community learning environment, engaging students in cooperative learning and allowing them to practice their critical thinking skills. Students receive on time feedback from their peers and their teacher, reinforcing meta-cognition and self- assessment.
