PAWS Classroom

Objectives Review the PAWS expectations for the classroom By the end of this lesson, all students will be able to describe the expected behavior in the classroom

Behavior Expectations

Persevere Try your best

Are always responsible Take care of your personal classroom materials Complete your classwork on time

Work and play safely Walk quietly in the classroom Use your materials carefully

Show Respect Raise your hand Use kind words Take turns Listen when others are speaking

Pause and think of PAWS What should you do with your classroom materials after you have used them? How can you show someone that you are listening while they are speaking? Why should you walk in the classroom?

Rewards Students who are caught following the rules will receive a PAWS ticket

Consequences Students who choose not to follow the rules will have consequences for their actions

Reflection Why is it important for all students to follow the behavior expectations in the classroom? What will you do today in the classroom to show that you are pausing and thinking about PAWS?

Let’s Practice Now we will practice these expectations in our classroom
