Student Achievement: Reading and Math Strategies In addition to AVID Strategies, all teachers will focus on giving Wise Academic Feedback to students to advance learning. Feedback to students can have a powerful influence on their learning. Hattie and Timperley (2007) analyze how the type of feedback and the way it is delivered can have differential effects. “It is closing the gap between where students are and where they are aiming to be that leads to the power of feedback.” (p.90) Wise Feedback is: Positive, Specific, given with High Expectations and Assurance

Field School Climate 2015-2016

Field School Climate Goal and Strategies Goal: Decrease the disproportional numbers of referrals and suspensions, increase engagement and decrease the disproportion in achievement between students of color and white students. Staff will receive PD and implement Restorative Practices Field will continue to collaborate with OBMSA (Office of Black Male Student Achievement) with PD on Unconscious Bias and Trauma and the Black Child Body.

Student Progress To monitor student learning, we use state assessments, formative assessments and other ways to gather information to plan programs and supports for our students. These are the ways we share this information with you about your student throughout the year: 1. Parent Portal – updated every two weeks 2. Midterm reports and report cards 3. Email/phone calls
