Weight There are two ways to measure how much matter an object has-weight and mass. Weight is a measure of the force of gravity on you. You weigh less on the moon because the force of gravity is weaker Weight is good for everyday use, but scientists dislike using weight because it is not consistent. Scientists prefer to measure mass.
