Year 8X Period 1 Textiles Tuesday 11th December Learners will need their personal manga doll booklets to assist them with their task. Task 1 Learners need to create a moodboard about different types of dolls including ‘mee’ and ‘manga’ dolls. They must fill an A4 page and use the internet to research as many different types of dolls as possible (See page 9 in booklet) Please ensure they put their name on their work and print it out at the end. It should take a full lesson, however there is an extension task for those who finish. Extension Task Learners need to research the ‘www.designertoystore.co.uk’ to produce an A4 poster about the different dolls they sell. They must annotate their finidngs and include, prices, the age the product is suitable for,etc. Examples are in their booklet (See page 13). I have attached the relevant pages for you. Thanks Stef

Shop Research This will form part of your assessment Level 6 Your design Brief states that you are to make a personalised Mee Doll that could be sold at www.designertoystore.co.uk to enable you to retail your product you need to research the shop you are going to retail your doll in. You re to produce an A4 page (poster, leaflet) researching their different products and decide what area of the website your dolls would sit. You should also consider what your doll how much you will sell your doll for! Use lots of images, annotation, colour and detail. I have included levelled examples of research pages to help you.
