www.CLI Home.com By: Vicky Parisien

What is CLI Home? CLI Home is a website that contains two important tools for teachers. The two tools are curriculum mapper and instruction planner. CLI Home can increase the depth of understanding of the standards. Enables teachers to plan curriculum and classroom instruction that promotes inquiry and higher levels of cognitive demand.

Instructional Planner Plan lesson plans. Share lesson plans with professional learning communities. Matches units and lessons to local and state standards. Your administrator can track what was taught in the classroom. Closes curriculum gaps with real-time data on classroom instruction. Easily transfer data into the Curriculum Mapper.

Curriculum Mapper Curriculum Mapper improves student achievement by aligning curriculum to standards. Analyzes curricula to identify gaps so you can improve academic performance. Builds a standards-aligned library of curriculum materials with a scope of sequence. Easily transfers data from the Instructional Planner.

How do I utilize it? Go to www.clihome.com Set up a log in for the site. Not quite sure what it costs, our school administrator pays for the program for all teachers. Getting to know the program requires you to go through the tutorials to show you how to use the program.

Instructional Planner The next5 slides are pictures of my Instructional Planner. The Instructional Planner requires a lot of time placing all the information in, however once you get it in, its there and you may use it year after year. I also, like the reflection part. The next year you can always read how the lesson went and the if it didn’t go so well the changes that need to be made to have a successful lesson. Once you have all your information you then hit the send to Curriculum Mapper. All that information will then be sent to Curriculum Mapper.

1st part of Instructional Planner This is a the top part of my reading lesson. It has the title which is Lesson 30. If you go down to Domain 1: Planning and Preparation. This section contains the essential questions, depth of knowledge, and Higher Order Thinking Questions to ask students. After filling in the information you will then press save which is in the corner above the Higher Order Questions.

Instructional Planner, Add a new unit You have to press add new unit on the screen underneath. Then you type in your title of the lesson. You then select a class. I have ELA and math. Once you choose which class you want your name will automatically pop up under section. You will then pick a start date and end date for the lesson. You then press add unit . It will then be added to your unit plan list.

The middle part of my Instructional Planner Standards The middle part of the slide contains the standards that are in that lesson. You hit the add/remove standards on right side on the top and it will show you all the standards for reading for a certain grade which you have to pick. Of course I picked 5th and began selecting the standards that belonged to that week unit.

The 3rd part of my Instructional Planner This part of is the content, skills, assessment, academic, and domain vocabulary. The first column contains the content in the lesson. The second column contains the skills that are in the content areas of the lesson. The third column contains the assessment that the students will be evaluated on. The last column contains the vocabulary in the lesson.

The bottom part of the Instructional Planner The bottom part contains Domain 4: Professional Responsibilities The part is to be filled in after you have taught the lesson. This is the space where the teacher reflects on how well the lesson went or how she thinks she can do a better job next time. Reflect on the lesson. That way next year when you go back to teach the lesson you can read on how to improve the lesson or what you did to make the lesson perfect.

Curriculum Mapper When you pull up your Curriculum Mapper the slide will show a month of information that you will be covering that month. In the Curriculum Mapper in the skills section where there is a little box with an S on it. When clicked on it a box will appear and show you every standard that is contained in that lesson. Also in the Curriculum Mapper you may go to the Reports tab at the top of the page and hit analyze this will then run a report and tell you all the standards that you are missing.

The top part of my Curriculum Mapper This shows you that I will be covering theme 2 the first part of November. It contains the content, skills, assessment, and academic and domain vocabulary. This information is transferred over from my Instructional Planner.

The remaining part of my Curriculum Mapper The content that is the remaining part of my Curriculum Mapper is the following themes that will be taught throughout the month, just like the following slide.

The Curriculum Mapper (the standards slide) This slide contains the common core standards that are covered in the theme. In order to get this screen you have to press on the S that is in the little box in the skills section.

CLI Home This is what all the teachers at our school use for lesson plans. We no longer have to write our plans. We are just required to print off the plans for the week. It also makes sure we cover all the required common core standards. Everyone should try it. After all the work once, you may use it again year after year.

SAMR Model CLI Home can be considered Substitutional being it is mandatory that our school use this lesson plan rather than old way of writing down. CLI Home can substitute the old way of completing lesson plans. A great improvement, therefore it can be considered Augmentation. Therefore, CLI Home is the Enhancement section of the SAMR model.
