Presentation transcript:

ACTIVATION: Positive Personal & Cultural Identity Read the prompts under the Positive Personal and Cultural Identity category on the first page of your journals. Pick one that you connect to or think that you demonstrate strength in. Use a real life example of how you demonstrate it. For example: One of my personal skills or strength is I am creative and think outside the box, so my projects are always unique. I am an honest person because I was raised with this value by my parents. Now share with a partner. Class Share-out

Heart Map Overview & Instructions Heart maps contain words, images, quotes and phrases to represent significant events, memories, people, passions, goals and ideas that are closely connected to one's heart and identity.   1) Start with one of the prompts and create a section on your heart to represent it. You can use words, images, symbols or quotes to represent your identity. 2. You can color in sections of your heart (e.g., you might want to color code it: purple for important people, green for passions, blue for goals, yellow for your personal strengths) once you’ve filled in all of the sections. 3. Start in pencil and then start adding colour or fine-lining as you draft your ideas.
