5 Create a T-chart that identifies the two central images of the poem.
Highlight lines about one image in one color and the other image in another color. Summarize the poem in a sentence or two on page Share

6 Mark the text What effect does the juxtaposition of images have on the poem? Hint: adds emphasis Note the contrasts in his diction (word choice) Make notes in the My Notes section Identify the author’s verbs that elaborates on the two images (flowers and weeds). Highlight the metaphors and explain what they represent in the My Notes section.
