TGF-β1 induces ILK activity in renal tubular epithelial cells. TGF-β1 induces ILK activity in renal tubular epithelial cells. (A and B) In vitro kinase assay shows that TGF-β1 induced a biphasic activation of ILK kinase activity. HKC-8 cells were incubated with TGF-β1 at the concentration of 2 ng/ml for various periods of time as indicated. Total cell lysates were immunoprecipitated with polyclonal anti-ILK antibody. Kinase assay was performed using myelin basic protein (MBP) as the substrate. (A) Representative assay. (B) Graphic presentation of the kinetics of ILK activation.
