Presentation transcript:

Page 1 Write your full name across the top Write 5 unique things about yourself Use 4 different colors of colored pencils Teacher should model with students and tell 5 things about themselves. Students do not need to share this with other students. Encourage students to add glue pictures and draw pictures here as well to express who they are. You learn quite a bit about your students doing this with each notebook.

Page 2 “The Left Side” What goes on the left side? Output – the ideas and information that comes from your brain! Use color! Examples: Brainstorming Concept Maps Quick writes Graphic organizers Data and graphs you create Homework Classwork activities Anything you create Can print 2 slides to a page if you prefer that students have a copy to glue in their notebooks versus writing information. Left Side

Page 3 “The Right Side” What goes on the right side? Examples The Input – the information that is given to you by an instructor or others. Use blue or black ink and highlight! Examples Cornell Notes Vocabulary words and meanings Lab or activity instructions Handouts Right side

Page 4: Leave Blank Doddle Page  Change this slide to fit your needs. I have used this as a “doddle page” for students if you do not want to use it for a resource.

Page 5, 6, 7 and 8- Leave pg. 9 blank Table of Contents You will glue the Table of Contents provided for you on these pages Page # Left Page # Right 8 (2 or 3 word summary of activity) 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 See resources on Blackboard for a word document copy of table of contents to print out for students. I do not use table of contents for warm-ups in the back.

Numbering Pages Starting on the first page where you wrote 5 things about yourself, number each side of a page in pencil. Pages will never be torn out – be careful. If you do not have enough time to finish numbering, please finish for tomorrow. You should have about 140 pages numbered. I have found that some of the notebooks do not always have exactly 70 pages.
